Jonathan D. Bletzacker
Jon is an Associate at Cook & Monahan, P.C. and primarily practices in the areas of general civil litigation, family law, and estate planning and probate. Jon also has represented clients in bankruptcy proceedings and with business formations. Jon is a panel attorney for the Western Conference of Teamster and represents Teamsters with an array of legal issues. Prior to joining Cook & Monahan, P.C., Jon was an Associate at the law firm of Stepan Lewis & Paxman, LC, located in Sandy, Utah. Jon is admitted to practice before the Bars of Utah, and the United State District Court for the District of Utah. Jon is a member of the Litigation Section of the Utah Bar.
Jon received his degree of Juris Doctor from the S.J. Quinney College of Law, University of Utah, in 2008. During law school, Jon served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Judith Billings in the Utah Court of Appeals. Jon served as the Articles Editor for the Journal of Law and Family Studies. He received the College of Law Outstanding Achievement Award in Family Law, the College of Law Pro Bono Certificate, and a scholarship for his performance in the law school Trial Advocacy Competition. Jon also published an article entitled, Who Decides: The Abortions Rights of Teens: A Defense of the Bellotti Decision, 9 J.L. & Fam.Stud. 129 (2007). Prior to law school, Jon received a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from the University of Utah, with a Major in Political Science, Minors in International Studies and Middle-Eastern Studies, and a Certificate of International Relations.
Jon enjoys reading, golfing, playing guitar, politics, and spending time with his wife and two children, Bela and Van.
